India Update July 13, 2010

JON’S UPDATE:

Well, my wife went home last night after a week long stay.  She had a great experience…getting to see first hand what we are doing here and more importantly WHY we wrote the screenplay and have invested the last two years into this project.  These people are amazing and they need a voice.  They need equality.  They need respect.  If this film project can build even ONE school and even ONE student received an education and can use that education to change things for their bothers and sisters…then every second was worth it!  Shannon now has a different perspective and while she was always been hundred percent supportive…now she can FEEL it!  She knows Persis…she has seen the slums, where many of the Dalit are forced to live.  This film is now a person and a place and a people…in Shannon’s eyes.

I have spent the better part of the day writing.  I am still working my way through the script re-write and one scene in particular is giving me grief.  I need to power through it.  I did stop and pray for God to guide and write through me.  I am sure it will come…it has to be right.  So I will continue writing.  I did spend a little bit of time with Persis today…she is always a bright spot, full of life…today we went through some of the lines with Beena.  She will be really good in the film.

Anyway that is it for now.  Have a great day and celebrate with us the permit coming through!!!  You were a huge part of that…your prayers were heard and God provided.  Now, we get to actually go make the film…now the work really begins!
God Bless

We are still reveling in the excitement of receiving our Film Permit!  We are very thankful for all of your continued prayers and support.  Currently, we are securing the visas needed to enter India for the cast and crew and we hope to begin production as soon as possible. Thank you so much for following our journey, and enjoy today’s video update with clips of our “Tuk Tuk” ride and more of Jon and Persis…
